WThis is an easy interpretation of a cocktail from a new cocktail list. This is a party-sized prepared mix which is bursting with the flavours of a Christmas time, rendering it ideal for a festive gathering. Any leftover cordial for morning drinks, puddings, or to mix additional servings of the drink.
The Bikini Cocktail
Serves 10 guests
Ingredients for the Clementine Syrup (makes 750ml)
300ml fresh clementine juice
200ml fresh lemon juice
500g caster sugar
For the Premix (makes 850ml, serving 10)
400ml good quality vodka
100ml dry gin
150ml peach schnapps
200ml clementine cordial (from the recipe above)
Whole cranberries, for garnish
Mandarin essential oil, for finishing
Directions
Making the Citrus Syrup: Place every items in a pan, heat until it reaches a gentle boil, mixing until the sugar dissolves. Next, take off the burner allowing it to reach room temperature entirely. Transfer to a sterilised bottle, seal and refrigerate it in the fridge, it will last for up to a month.
Preparing the Cocktail Base: Pour the specified liquid ingredients in a sizeable container, let it rest for an hour, then filter it best through cheesecloth, so it's perfectly clear.
For serving: Pour 85ml from the premix to a cocktail shaker containing ice, gently stirring lightly for about 60 seconds until cold. Strain into an frosted cocktail glass or equivalent, garnish with some cranberries and complete it with a brief mist of mandarin oil over the top.
